SINGLE SERVING APPLE CRUMBLE TART

This apple crumble tart for one is filled with tart apples for the perfect sweet, tart, crumbly bite. To save time, add a few ingredients to half of the shortbread like crust recipe to make the crumble topping.

INGREDIENTS

Make crust/topping: Cut butter into dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon). Mix until a small pebble sandy texture.

STEP 1

Sprinkle ½ of crust mixture into greased baking dish (remaining mixture will be used for the topping). Press down crust until even.

STEP 2

Bake crust at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until soft. It may not be golden brown.

STEP 3

Prepare topping: add oats, brown sugar, and cold butter to remaining crust mixture. Mix together until a pebbly texture. Refrigerate.

STEP 4

Assemble filing: Add apple, all purpose flour, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of nutmeg to a small-medium sized mixing bowl. Toss.

STEP 5

Spread out apples, filling mixture over crust. Evenly sprinkle topping over apples.

STEP 6

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool at least 10 minutes.

STEP 7

Serve hot or cold with ice cream, cream, and caramel sauce.
