INGREDIENTS

Before making sticky tofu, press tofu. Let stand for 30-60 minutes.

STEP 1

Preheat skillet over medium/medium-high heat. Prepare rice/noodles, if desired.

STEP 2

After water has been pressed out of tofu, cut into bite sized pieces.

STEP 3

In a storage container/bowl with lid, add cornstarch, salt and pepper. Add tofu, and lid. Shake until all pieces are coated.

STEP 4

Add neutral oil to pan. When oil is hot and shimmering, add tofu in a single layer. Cook 3-5 minutes per side.

STEP 5

Prepare sauce. Mix together water, soy sauce, brown sugar, tomato paste, sesame oil, and garlic in a small mixing bowl.

STEP 6

After tofu is crispy on edges, turn off heat and pour sauce over tofu. Toss tofu so all sides are coated.

STEP 7

Top with sesame seeds, green onion. Serve over rice. Enjoy immediately.
