How will these chocolate dipped oreos make your life better?

The holidays can get expensive, with parties, clothes, travel, and all the gifts we get for our loved ones... it adds up quickly. Instead of spending a lot of money buying things for your friends and family, consider making them a yummy treat.

These chocolate dipped oreos, homemade gingerbread spice mix, gingerbread poundcake, or 3 ingredient homemade hot cocoa are all tasty treats that anyone would be psyched to get delivered to them. Plus, what's better is that they're all easy for you to make. Or make these small batch double chocolate cookies, they're the best cookies ever.

What makes these cookies so good?

    • Oreos
    • Chocolate chips
    • Peppermint candy

How do I make these chocolate dipped oreos?

Melt the chocolate: Pour 12 oz chocolate chips into microwave safe bowl, microwave for about 2 minutes, taking bowl out every 45 seconds to stir. Continue to cook and stir until chocolate chips are melted and silky. Set aside.

Expert Tip: Use your favorite kind of chocolate chips. I prefer semi-sweet chocolate chips. You can also use regular or double stuf oreos.

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or reusable baking mats and pour 1 c crushed peppermint candy into shallow bowl. Dip each Oreo cookie halfway into chocolate, then place on baking pan.

Once all cookies are on the baking sheets, sprinkle peppermint candies liberally over cookies.

Expert Tip: Buy crushed peppermint candy OR place peppermint candies or candy canes in a freezer plastic bag and roll rolling pin over them to smash candies.

Refrigerate until chocolate hardens, at least 15 minutes. Once hardened, you can distribute them into plastic bags or jars as gifts. Or refrigerate until you eat them.

    FAQ

How long will chocolate dipped oreos last?

Usually food lasts about a week. They will stay fresher longer if refrigerated in an airtight container.

What's the best chocolate to use for chocolate dipped oreos?

Choose a higher quality chocolate, like Ghirardelli or Guittard, the chocolate dip will be silky, tasty, and gorgeous.

Can you freeze chocolate dipped oreos?

I usually eat them before they'd go bad, so I haven't. But the internet says that you can freeze them. Just double wrap them and freeze for up to a couple months.
