This warm prosciutto and fig pizza is a 15 minute weeknight dinner that's best when drizzled with either a balsamic glaze or maple syrup. Make it with a pre-made crust or naan for the perfect late summer/early fall appetizer or dinner.

How will this fig pizza recipe make your life easier?

Start your prosciutto and fig pizza with store bought pizza dough OR naan bread, then it'll just take 15-20 minutes. This prosciutto and fig pizza is a quick and easy pizza dinner, which is always a good idea.

Try these other pizza recipes: buffalo chicken flatbread pizza, peach & prosciutto caprese pizza, Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread or pear & prosciutto pizza. Pair with this easy beet salad (using more goat cheese) or add all the arugula to this pizza!

    • Zucchini with Feta
    • Copycat Chick Fil A Kale Salad
    • Apple Cucumber Salad

How do I make this fig and prosciutto pizza with goat cheese?

pizza crust with olive oil on top of a baking sheet

Start making your prosciutto and fig pizza by turning the oven onto broil. Drizzle olive oil over crust. Spread it out over whole crust with the back of a spoon.

Crumble, and then evenly distribute goat cheese over crust. Then top with figs, prosciutto, and chopped green bell peppers.

Broil in oven until prosciutto and crust are golden brown, or in 450 degree oven. About 5-8 minutes.

Cut your prosciutto and fig pizza, drizzle maple syrup or balsamic glaze over pizza, sprinkle with kosher salt, and enjoy.

    Substitutions/Tips

    • Use pita, naan, or precooked pizza crust to save time. You can also buy pizza dough or make your own. Here's my favorite homemade pizza dough recipe.
    • Distribute cheese first, the order of remaining ingredients doesn't matter as much.
    • Use either black or green figs, depending on availability and price. Use any color bell pepper for this recipe.
    • If you have a grill, grill your pizza directly on the grill grates. It's as close to pizza oven pizza without a pizza oven!
    • Other great add-ins: other seasonal toppings like zucchini, corn, etc.

    FAQ

What kind of cheese goes on fig and prosciutto pizza?

I recommend using goat cheese on this prosciutto and fig pizza recipe. You can also use mozzarella cheese on it.

    Is prosciutto good on pizza?

Prosciutto is great on pizza, it gives you a nice crunch and salty flavor. It's quicker than using bacon because you don't need to precook it to add to pizza. Look at the other pizza recipes in the top section, a few have prosciutto on them.

    When are figs in season?

Figs have a short season, generally from August-October in the United States. They're usually pretty hard to find out of season. So buy them when you see them!

What can I make with leftover ingredients?

    • Goat cheese: Beet Salad with Goat Cheese & Arugula or pair them with freshly steamed beets
    • Pizza dough: Pear, Prosciutto Arugula Pizza, Buffalo Chicken Flatbread.
    • Prosciutto: Peach Caprese Pizza with Prosciutto
    • Figs: Roast them with honey to add to ice cream, yogurt, or just eat plain

Many years I dreamt about tasting one unusual Italian combination - prosciutto con melone, and this year my dream came true in Rome. I've already tried peach & prosciutto caprese pizza and pear & prosciutto pizza, I love them so much! The combination of ingredients give this unique taste and smells stunning! I appreciate that these recipes are so easy and fast to cook, even a child can deal with it. I don't like when there are too much ingredients, then you can't feel any elusive notes of taste, the dish turns out to be "the borshch" (as far as I know, it's a Slavic cuisine dish, a red soup with a lot of vegetables)/ Your recipes and creative, exclusive and very tasty, thank you so much!
