How will this buffalo chicken flatbread make your life easier?

Making pizza or flatbread is a great way to use up chicken and vegetables that you have on hand. Buffalo chicken adds a great flavor to a simple pizza recipe. Use traditional bleu cheese or ranch dressing. This flatbread just takes 10-15 minutes to make, so you can eat quickly!

Not in the mood for buffalo chicken? Try this Pear, Arugula, and Prosciutto Flatbread; Fig & Prosciutto Pizza; or Peach Caprese Pizza.

What makes this flatbread so good?

    How do I make it?

    Preheat oven to 475 degrees.

(optional) Sautee sliced onions before cooking flatbread. Place small saucepan over medium-low heat, pour ½ teaspoon olive oil into pan, then add ¼ c sliced yellow onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-10 minutes, or until soft and translucent.

Expert Tip: Use precooked or homemade pizza dough if you don't have flatbread.

Expert Tip: Sautee onions if you have time, the sweetness this adds is really good with the vinegary, spicy buffalo chicken and richness of the dressing.

Place flatbread on a baking sheet, spoon 2 tablespoon of ranch or bleu cheese dressing on flatbread. Drizzle 1+ tablespoon hot sauce on 1 c of chopped chicken, toss until it's coated. Evenly distribute on flatbread. Add ½ c thinly sliced vegetables if desired. Sprinkle ½ c mozzarella cheese and 2 tablespoon shredded cheddar cheese over chicken and vegetables.

Expert Tip: Use rotisserie or other precooked chicken. Use Franks RedHot hot sauce or other hot sauce. Empty your fridge and add whatever vegetables you have on hand (squash, onions, bell pepper, corn, etc)

    FAQ

Why is it called buffalo chicken?

According to TIME magazine, buffalo chicken wings were developed by Teressa Bellassimo, of the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY. She served them, covered in her special sauce, with celery and bleu cheese because that's what she had on hand. That flavor combination is popular for more than just wings!

    Who has buffalo chicken pizza?

Lots of pizza joints have a buffalo chicken pizza. It's a great pizza combination. Pizza Hut and Dominos are 2 popular pizza places with buffalo chicken pizza.
