    Homemade High Protein Granola

    Make this high protein granola ahead of time to have quick and easy breakfasts for the week. It just takes 25 minutes to whip up this crunchy, nutty, chocolaty granola. Or try this simple peanut butter granola recipe.

    How will this protein granola recipe make your life easier?

    Yogurt and granola is a great quick, cold breakfast. Save money and customize your breakfast by making granola yourself. Put this granola on a Yogurt Bowl, over this Mixed Berry Smoothie, or eat with milk.

    What makes this homemade granola so good?

    • Honey
    • Peanut butter
    • Rolled oats
    • Peanut butter powder
    • Nuts (almonds, peanuts, etc)
    • Chia/flax seeds
    • Chocolate chips

    How do I make this granola recipe?

    Start making your granola by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Pour honey and peanut butter into small mixing bowl, microwave for 10 seconds until honey and peanut butter are warm.

    Add rolled oats to large mixing bowl, drizzle honey/peanut butter mixture into oats. Add peanut butter powder, sliced nuts, chia/flax seeds, and chocolate chips to oats.

    Mix together until honey/peanut butter mixture coats all the other ingredients.

    Spread granola on a baking sheet, bake for 10 minutes. Stir to break apart, and bake for another 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove and let cool on the counter.

    Transfer your high protein granola to a glass jar when cooled. Enjoy your granola over yogurt, milk, or on a smoothie for breakfast.

    Substitutions/Tips

    • Swap nuts and seeds for whatever you have on hand. Hemp hearts, other nuts, and other dried fruit are great with this granola. Note: if adding dried fruit, add after baking)
    • Adjust peanut butter powder to taste preference.
    • Other great add-ins: dried fruit, other nuts, etc.

    Is granola rich in protein?

    Granola can be a good source of protein. With nut butter and nuts in it, it can be a good source of protein. You may want high protein granola to tide you over until lunch.

    How to eat protein granola?

    Granola is great plain, as a snack, over yogurt with your favorite toppings, or on a smoothie. It's versatile, and can have lots of different add-ins.

    Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Granola

    • Measuring cups, spoons
    • Cookie sheet

    Ingredients

    • ¼ cup honey
    • ¼ cup peanut butter
    • 2 cups rolled oats
    • 2 tablespoons peanut butter powder
    • 1 tablespoon sliced nuts (almonds, peanuts, etc)
    • 1 tablespoon chia/flax seeds
    • ⅓ cup chocolate chips

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour ¼ cup honey and ¼ cup peanut butter into small mixing bowl, microwave for 10 seconds until honey and peanut butter are warm. Add 2 cups rolled oats to large mixing bowl, drizzle honey/peanut butter mixture into oats.     • Spread out on a baking sheet, bake for 10 minutes. Stir to break apart, and bake for another 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove and let cool on the counter. Transfer to glass jar when cooled. Add to yogurt, milk, or a smoothie for breakfast in the morning.

        It should last a couple weeks. I like to do the sniff test to see if something is good. If it smells appropriate, it should be good to eat. Enjoy!
