Instructions
Scroll down to the chocolate covered popcorn recipe card for more detailed instructions. Here's a quick overview + photos to see how to make this recipe in general.
1. To start your chocolate covered popcorn, add popcorn kernels to Stasher bag or paper bag. Seal Stasher bag, leaving 1 inch open for steam to release. If using a paper bag, roll up bag and place rolled part down.
2. Microwave 2-3 minutes, or until it stops popping. Cook it similar to a microwave popcorn bag. You can remove popped popcorn as it pops to reduce burning, if needed.
3. Remove when done. Add chocolate chips and oil to small microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, until melted. Stir to smooth.
4. While chocolate is in the microwave, spray popcorn with cooking spray and add salt. Shake vigorously to coat all popcorn kernels. Taste test it, it should be just slightly under-salted.
5. When chocolate is melted, pour about ⅓ of popcorn into serving bowl. Then drizzle about ⅓ of chocolate.
6. Repeat. Refrigerate until chocolate hardens or eat your chocolate covered popcorn for one immediately.
Storage Tips
Store leftover chocolate covered popcorn in an airtight container for a few days. You can store it at room temperature or in the fridge. It will last longer at room temperature (not dry out as much) but the chocolate may not set if it's warm.
Store as you prefer.
